Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Ingredients:

(1 lb) 93/7 Lean Ground Beef (can also substitute for ground chicken or turkey)

(8 oz, uncooked) Barilla Protein Plus Spaghetti

(1 cup) Traditional Spaghetti Sauce

(1 cup) Shredded or Grated Parmesan Cheese (optional - if omitted, subtract 110 calories, 10g P, 1g C, 7g F per serving)

Salt, Pepper, Italian Seasoning To Taste

Directions:

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions

  2. While pasta water is heating to a boil, heat a separate, nonstick pan to medium heat.

  3. Once the pan is heated, add ground beef and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste, breaking the meat apart as it cooks. Cook to a minimum internal temperature of 165°F.

  4. Once ground beef is fully cooked, drain any remaining grease from the pan, turn heat to simmer and add spaghetti sauce. Stir until combined and sauce is simmering.

  5. Portion out cooked pasta into 4 equal servings and top with equal parts of meat sauce. Top each serving with 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese if desired and enjoy!
