Home Gym Essentials - Affordable + Space Saving

Here are my top home-gym essentials that won't break the bank or require you to dedicate an entire room in your home to house your workout equipment. Whether you set them up in a small area of your home or store it all away in a closet when you are not using it, these 6 items are versatile, compact and serve as great starter equipment to allow for killer home workouts.

1. Adjustable Dumbbells - These dumbbells make it easy to change weights without the need for an entire rack of dumbbells. They come in 5-25 lb or 11-55 lb options.

2. Adjustable Bench - This bench is an incline, decline, and flat bench all in one. (If you're looking for a slightly cheaper alternative and can get by with a fixed flat bench, this one is under $70)

3. Resistance Band Set with Door Anchor - This is a great home alternative for cable-based exercises such as lat pulldowns. It comes with a door anchor and interchangeable handles to maximize your exercise options. These are also great if you travel often, they are light enough to pack in a carry on and allow you to get a workout in from anywhere in the world.

4. Yoga Mat - This 1/2" thick yoga mat provides cushion for any floor exercises and can be rolled up for easy storage when you aren't using it.

5. 'Booty Bands' - Despite the name, these bands can be used for more than just training glutes, such as slipping it around your arms to help assist with pushups. These are also light and easy to travel with.

6. Rope-less Jump Rope - Whether you haven't quite mastered how to jump rope efficiently enough to produce a good workout or have little ones or pets running around, these jump rope handles provide the rhythm and feel of a traditional jump rope without the potential for whacking innocent passers by or furniture.

Everything shown here currently totals in at $438.93. Assuming you are paying $40/month for a gym membership, this will pay for itself in less than 11 months!
