Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps (Low Carb)

Asian Chicken Lettuce Wraps. In under 25 minutes you can prepare a low carb, high protein meal that is far from boring to help keep you on track with your health and fitness goals, making this the perfect recipe for busy weeknights.

This recipe is super quick and easy to make and still tastes great the next day as leftovers or when used for meal preps.

What You'll Need:

For The Sauce:

- 2 Tbsp Hoisin Sauce

- 2 Tbsp Teriyaki Sauce

- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce (Low Sodium)

- 1 tsp Rice Wine Vinegar

- 1 tsp Ground Ginger

- 1 tsp Cornstarch

- 1 Tbsp Sriracha Sauce (optional)

For The Chicken:

1 Tbsp Sesame Oil

1 Tbsp Garlic (minced)

1 lb. Ground Chicken

1/2 tsp Dried Basil

To Finish:

1 Head Bibb or Butter Lettuce (washed and patted dry)

Green Onions (sliced)(optional, for garnish)

Matchstick Carrots (optional, for garnish)

Sesame Seeds (optional, for garnish)

Directions:

1. In a small mixing bowl, combine Hoisin Sauce, Teriyaki Sauce, Soy Sauce, Rice Wine Vinegar, Ginger, Cornstarch, and Sriracha (optional). Whisk together until fully combined and set aside for later.

2. In a wok or skillet over medium heat, heat Sesame Oil and Minced Garlic for about 1 minute. Next, add Ground Chicken and season with Dried Basil.

3. Break chicken apart and cook until a minimum internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit is reached.

4. Once chicken is fully cooked, add sauce and stir to coat evenly; cook until heated through and slightly thickened, about 1 minute.

5. Assemble lettuce wraps by adding chicken to washed Lettuce, and garnish with Green Onions, Matchstick Carrots, and Sesame Seeds. Enjoy!

*Note: for a higher carb option, add rice as a base.
